#ME Manage Emotions                                                                Our counseling focus this past month has been to practice naming our feeling, identifying our reactions to emotions and then managing our emotions.  Our heart and mind communicate to each other all day long.  Are we listening?  We are all responsible for our actions.  May we live and learn to become a more empathetic person and friend today than we were yesterday. I Feel My Temperature Rising!

We are each responsible for knowing how we feel.  We are also each responsible for reading, listening or recognizing how our body talks to us.  When you know your energy is changing you can do something about it.  With practice, you will be able to read the energy changes in those around you. What Pushes Your Button?

Image
What pushes your button ?  How do you react when your button is pushed?                                             REACTIONS we are introducing to our students:                                            1.  Do you hold your emotion inside?                                            2.  Do you show you emotion?                                            3.  Do you dump your emotion on others? If you know what pushes your button and you know how you react you know what is about to happen and you can DO something about it!

Name Your Emotion / Name It - Claim It Feelings are not good or bad, they just are:  if you can name your feeling you are on your way to manage your emotions with healthy thoughts and better choices. Listen you your own body and try to understand the clues you are being given.  When you understand your emotions you can then decide if this emotion is helping you to stay safe or distracting and hurting your emotional well being.
