We are learning and reviewing the roles of bully behavior :   offender, target and witness Kinds of bully behavior:    verbal, physical, emotional, cyber and gender Ways to stop the bully cycle of hurt, anger and revenge:   *talk to a friend or family member *invite your friend to safety *move away from the offender - get to safety *challenge the offender * remind others of the rules agreed upon * change the subject * talk in private * report behaviors to an adult * walk away - do not be an audience for the offender(s) * apologize * put yourself in the other person's shoes If you are feeling hurt, scared or embarrassed or making someone else feel this way repeatedly learn to recognize the warning signs of bully behavior: * is the other person laughing or showing expressions of being sad, afraid or embarrassed? * are hurtful words or actions happening? * have actions gone to far?   K now when to stop your behavior or get help to stop be...

Ice Cream Social

Dear Parents, We cannot express how excited we are to see your children.  Our minds, bodies, hearts, and souls are feeling restored and rested.  This summer has provided time to grow from study, refection, quiet time, exercise, extensive family time, play and relaxation.  I hope your children are as excited as we are to be back to our school community of learning. Our first visit with you and your family will be this Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at our annual Concord Ice Cream Social : Session 1:  Last names beginning with A-M 5:30-6:15 p.m. Session 2:  Last names beginning with N-Z  6:15-7:00 p.m. We also have our first football game of the season this coming Friday, August 19.  Our teens have been working hard all summer to prepare for their fall season: from football, band, poms, cheerleaders... It all rolls out this Friday night at 7:00.  Come visit and enjoy a wonderful evening together!

Growing Consequences of not Enough Sleep

Click Here William Shakespeare must have known the value of a good night's sleep when he wrote that it "knits up the ravell'd sleeve of care" and was the "Chief  nourisher   in life's feast". As a parent, you can no doubt write your own poem. An ode to "thine tired child's crabbiness and orneriness" perhaps. But the reasons for a good night's sleep go well beyond mood. "If children are not sleeping well the consequences may be problems with behavior, attention, learning, and memory," says Dr. Shelly Weiss, author of  Better Sleep for Your Baby & Child: A Parent's Step-by-Step Guide to Healthy Sleep Habits  and Pediatric Program Director at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
